What accounting program to use?

The Article

The question most web hosts ask each other in web hosting forums and chat rooms is what type of account software should I use. Should I consider an offline solution or something that is hooked up to my server? What is my price tag? Can I get a software program for free?

Could I find a good one on hotscripts.com? The answer to all the questions usually is get Quickbooks. It’s offline, about $200, not available for free, and can not be seen on hotscripts.com. Quickbooks may be the most popular accounting software out there, but I think we should try others out there, such as Peachtree Accounting. I been using Peachtree Accounting for over a year now and I love it. The features and ease of the program is great! They even give you a $30 check in the mail when you switch from Quickbooks to Peachtree.

Peachtree is published by Best Software (yes, the same company that makes ACT!). There are four main types, Basic, Standard (which I use and love), Advanced, and Premium. The higher the features the higher the price. I believe that Standard is the best choice for web hosts, priced at only $200 at most fine software retailers its cheaper than Quickbooks, plus as I said before when you buy Peachtree fill out the form that came with the software and send in a Proof of Purchase for any version of Quickbooks and they will send you $30 back (this offer also includes any version of Microsoft Money, One Write Plus, DacEasy, Quicken, and they will even give you a $30 check in the mail from upgrading from an older version of Peachtree.
